None of “real, live” ancient recipe book has been remained to the present except the one by Apicius, a gastronome in the last century BC in Rome. Found in 3 century AD after several alternations to the original, this Apicius’ book is known as the oldest recipe book in the world. Not like its notorious Roman gastronomy such as excess elaborated recipes and the vomitoriums, this book also shows us more simple and well balanced cooking of that days -- using fresh vegetables from Southern Italy, seafood from the Mediterranean, poultry, ham, pita bread and red wines, and those have much similarity to the modern Italian and French recipes. “Festa di Roma-Ancient” is a night to enjoy the essence of this Apicius’s recipes with dreamy fusion of past and present created by the emerging modern French chef and le patissier. A talk and viewing of Pompeii Ruins by the TV director of “Ancient Rome “ will sprinkle a spice to the dishes. Sit back and relax. Enjoy great origin food and send your dream to the perpetual life of Pompei. |

I had learned freash hand made soba making at Toyama pref. when I stayed for a show, together with sakagu and Hisako Hara who were visting me there. So let us review and be ready for the new year's eve. And also tearing last chapter of "Sex and the City" will be shown as a option for the night! |
